Jan-Willem Breure (Nsekanabo) (born 1988) is a Rwandan-born Dutch media producer and founder festival director of the Septimius Awards, Isis Fashion Awards and IVAA. The Septimius Awards is an international award ceremony are based in Amsterdam. [1] The Isis Fashion Awards is an international award ceremony/fashion show are based in the Netherlands. [2] [3]


He is also known as the producer and director of the 2012 documentary about sexism titled Are All Men Pedophiles?.[1][4][5] and his documentary Do Women Have a Higher Sex Drive?.[6][7][8][9][10]


Early life and career

Breure was born in Rwanda. His mother died in childbirth and he was adopted by Reformed Churches in the Netherlands pastor Johan Breure and his wife, who worked as missionaries in Kenya. Breure lived in Kenya and Namibia before moving to the Netherlands in 2002.[11]

Breure studied Interactive Media Design at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague and founded his production company JW Multimedia Productions in 2008.[11] He directed the documentary about sexism against men titled Are All Men Pedophiles?.[12] The film was the NVVS Media Prize Winner of 2012.[1][4][5] His second documentary was Do Women Have a Higher Sex Drive?

Septimius Awards

In 2022 he founded the Septimius Awards. Septimius Awards is an annual award ceremony held in Amsterdam, Netherlands[13][14]. The award ceremony has a strong focus on independent and experimental films by showcasing emerging talents and established film talent. Jan-Willem Breure's motivation for starting the Septimius Awards was because he noticed a lack of diversity in the film industry. In an interview he explained he believes that the key a diverse award ceremony lies in the category systems. Most award ceremony have 2 category systems when it comes to film. National films and Foreign films. But the Septimius award has split the Best Actress, Best Actor and Best Film into continents. This means the Septimius Awards has Best European Film, Best American Film, Best Asian Film, Best African Film and Best Oceanian Film. He believes that this simulates global representation. Isis Fashion Awards

In 2022 Mr. Breure founded the Isis Fashion Awards. Isis Fashion Awards is an annual award ceremony held in Netherlands[100][101]. The award ceremony/fashion show has a strong focus on showcasing emerging talents and established fashion talent. Jan-Willem Breure's motivation for starting the Isis Fashion Awards was because he noticed a lack of opportunity for accessory desingers in the fashion industry. In an interview he explained he believes that the key to showcasing accessory designers can be achieved by created an exclusive platform for accessories. The Isis Fashion Awards is the only fashion show the models do not wear any clothing, only accessories. [102] [103]
