Amanda Tefler
Amanda Tefler was a lawyer in the United Kingdom, who died in what was described as a freak accident, on August 30, 2012.[1][2][3] Tefler was walking past a six story office building that had been undergoing construction. A heavy ground floor window frame, that had been removed from the wall, and was merely "propped up", fell on her. The window frame measured 13 x 13 feet, and weighed half a ton.[4] She was pronounced dead, on the scene.
Witness say she was merely walking by, eating her lunch, when the window fell.[3] A witness said she seemed to see the window begin to fall, but could not get out of the way in time. Initially authorities did not release Tefler's name, and described her as a woman in her twenties. Tefler's name was made publid on September 4th.[2] She was, in fact, 44 years old.
In addition to her work as a lawyer for Keystone Law, Tefler had worked for Random House Publishers, and had been an active volunteer for Reprieve, a human rights organization.[5][2]
