The Paper Bears
The Paper Bears is an American indie rock band formed in Dallas, Texas, in 2021. The group's current lineup consists of lead singer, songwriter, banjo player, and composer, Owen Swift, keyboard, harmony, and backup vocalist Eva Horn, backup vocalist Jake Bullmen, and guitarist and drummer, Cathal Mayfield.

History
2021-2022: Adventures in Lo-Fi
The Paper Bears originated in East Dallas as a garage band founded by Owen Swift. After the release of their first EP The Paper Bears, the band displayed their abrasive lo-fi music style. Following their 2021 EP, The Paper Bears released their debut album, Adventures in Lo-Fi. The album was released on November 27, 2022. One of its twelve songs, "The Separating Fog", was included in the short film, Parasocial, which debuted fifteen days before their album was released.
2023-present: Do No Harm
The band made an appearance in the album, our friend's house...<3, by Friend's House Records in late 2022. Eva Horn and Swift represented The Paper Bears in the song, "Yes I Do." The album was released on January 1, 2023.
Nearly a year after the release of their first album, the band released their second EP, Do No Harm, on November 10, 2023. The EP seemingly abandoned the lo-fi vibe of the band's previous releases in place of a more clean and put-together quality. An additional backup vocalist, Jake Bullmen, joined the group and debuted as the backup vocalist in "She Swallowed Glass". The band performed the EP live at the Granada Theater in Dallas, Texas on January 28, 2024, at the Hope Healing Cancer with Music event. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society hosted the event to raise awareness for cancer patients and it included the performances of several other indie and alternative rock bands from the Dallas area.
On February 4, 2024, The Paper Bears partnered with This Saturn Factory to release the Underwater Adventure With Friends EP. This was the first release from The Paper Bears to mostly consist of strictly instrumental songs. Only two of the songs on the EP contained lyrics.
