Rajesh Babu K Sooranad
Rajesh Babu K Sooranad (born 27 May 1976) is an Indian music director, film producer, and screenwriter mainly working in the Malayalam film industry.[1][2]

Early Life
Born as the third son of N Karunakaran Nair and Vijayalakshmi Amma in Sooranad village of Kollam district in Kerala, Rajesh Babu was inspired to sing by his elder sisters. He studied Carnatic music for seven years under the tutelage of Shri Sooranad Gangadharan. Rajesh Babu graduated from Nagpur University with a Master's degree in Human Resource Management and worked as an HR professional for fifteen years before entering Malayalam cinema in 2015.[3]
Career
After fifteen years of working experience in various fields like retail, hospitality, IT, manufacturing, and service industries, Rajesh Babu entered the film industry by writing the screenplay for the Malayalam film "Take It Easy." The script was based on his personal and professional life, incorporating management methods commonly practiced in HR.[4]
Dedicated to Kerala on November 1, 2016, to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the formation of Kerala, renowned poet Shri P.K. Gopi penned the lyric of the song "Chandanam Sugandhamekia Sundarodayakeralam," with music by Rajesh Babu. He collaborated with musician Shimjith Sivan for films like "Mattancheri," "Ithirivettom," and "Srihalli."[5][6]
During 2020–2023, Rajesh Babu produced and composed music for Malayalam films such as "Perfume Her Fragrance," "Binary," and "Zha- The Incessant Rain" . The song "Neelavanam Thalamenthi" from "Perfume Her Fragrance" received critical acclaim, with playback singers K. S. Chitra and P. K. Sunilkumar winning Film Critics Association Awards for Best Playback Singer 2020.[7]
The film "Binary," released on 26 May 2023, received critical acclaim but had average success at the theaters. Rajesh Babu's comment about Binary's lead actors abstaining from the film's promotional work stirred controversy in the media and social media.[8]
