KB Barrell
Biography
KB Barrell (Theplaymaker)[1] is an American marketing and music executive. He is known for helping many up-and -coming artists succeed early in their careers. He has over 20 years of experience in artist management, marketing, and promotions. He is one half of the power duo KLU MANAGEMENT, along with Kevin "KU" Ulmer. He has been credited with bringing street teamwork back to the music industry.[2]
He first became well-known in the late 90s and early 2000s as the head of marketing and promotions for
Tone Struck records and
Sheppard/Lane Records. ~ The artists he promoted were
DJ QUIK, KOKANE, GLASSES MALONE, DJ BATTLECAT, SUGA FREE & THE LATE MAUSBERG collectively sold 23
million units worldwide from 1996 to present.
