Jeffrey Zaiger
Jeffrey H. Zaiger is the founding Partner of Zaiger LLC. Jeff is a seasoned litigator who has prosecuted and defended a broad range of high-stakes business cases in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings throughout the country. Prior to forming the Firm in spring 2019, Jeff was a Partner at Joseph Hage Aaronson LLC where he litigated on behalf of corporate and institutional clients, including Black Diamond. These disputes involved claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, breach of contract, legal malpractice, defamation, insurance coverage, RICO violations, and other complex commercial claims.
Education and career
Jeffrey H. Zaiger’s experience is in the prosecution and defense of a broad range of complex commercial disputes in federal and state courts and arbitration proceedings throughout the U.S. He litigates on behalf of corporate clients, institutional clients, and consumers in disputes running the gamut of commercial litigation. This includes: breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, breach of contract, legal malpractice, defamation, insurance coverage, and other complex commercial claims.
His cases include:
- Successfully petitioning the United States Supreme Court to vacate Ninth Circuit's reversal of class certification denial in malpractice class action;
- Dismissal motion granted in defense of a national law firm in action brought by Facebook and Mark Zuckerberg claiming malicious prosecution and judicial misconduct;
- Dismissal motion granted in defense of a national law firm in a $720 million RICO class action;
- Representation of a major international bank in a dispute following the theft of a corporate acquisition;
- Representation of a global asset management firm in a case alleging breach of contract and fiduciary duties; and,
- Successfully petitioning for asylum relief in a multi-year pro bono matter.
Mr. Zaiger is a graduate of Lafayette College (B.A. cum laude, 2002) and Boston University School of Law (J.D. 2007). He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University International Law Journal.
Mr. Zaiger is a member of the Bar in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and he is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fifth and Ninth Circuits, and numerous U.S. District Courts. Mr. Zaiger is an active member of the Federal Bar Council.
Beginning in 2013, Jeff was recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine in its ‘New York Rising Stars’ list for Business-Litigation. The distinction is comprised of the top 2% of up-and-coming attorneys under 40. Jeff was also selected as a “Super Lawyer” for Business Litigation in his first year of eligibility in 2021.
