David Isserman (born March 31, 1983) is an American ecommerce entrepreneur, private investor, and philanthropist known for his interest in promoting scientific exploration, conservation, and discovery. He is a Life Member & Board Director at The Explorers Club in New York and an Advisory Trustee at the Academy of Science in St. Louis. In 2023 was appointed Cavaleiro Honorário (Knight) in the Order of St. Michael of the Wing by H.R.H. Dom Duarte, Duke of Braganza.


Early Life

David Isserman was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, on 31 March 1983. He grew up in Clayton, Missouri. In 2010, he graduated with his MBA from Columbia Business School.

Personal Life

In 2014, David married Anna Isserman, an investment banker and philanthropist. They currently reside in Lisbon, Portugal.

Professional Career

He is an ecommerce entrepreneur with a history of rapidly scaling global direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce companies.

Touchstone Essentials

In 2011, he helped launch Touchstone Essentials, a direct-to-consumer wellness brand, where he currently serves as its COO. At Touchstone Essentials, he oversees the Company's global operations and logistics teams, information technology solutions group, and digital marketing initiatives that have grown the company from concept to over 500,000 customers across North America, Asia, and Europe.

Isserman Ventures

In 2020, David and his wife, Anna, launched Isserman Ventures, which focuses on strategic and purpose driven investing that helps preserve the planet.

Portuguese Knighthood

In 2023, he was appointed Cavaleiro Honorário (Knight) in the Ordem de São Miguel da Ala (Order of St. Michael of the Wing) by HRH Dom Duarte, Duke of Braganza, in recognition of his philanthropic work.

The Explorers Club

He currently serves as a Director of The Explorers Club and member of the Executive Committee, a position he's held since 2019. From 2019 to 2024, he has served as the Chair of The Explorers Club Annual Dinner, the longest-running charitable dinner in New York City history. Additionally, he currently serves as a committee member for the Global Exploration Summit (GLEX), a multi-day conference sponsored by The Explorers Club and held annually in Portugal and referred to as the "Davos of Exploration".

Academy of Science of St. Louis

Since 2007, he has served as an Advisory Trustee to the Academy of Science of St. Louis.

RareShare

In 2008, he founded RareShare.org, a digital platform connecting individuals and their families impacted by rare diseases.

St. Louis BioBlitz

In 2004, he helped establish the St. Louis BioBlitz, an annual 24-hour study of the biodiversity in St. Louis’ Forest Park.
