Angelica Morrone (born November 25, 1965, in Cosenza, Italy) is the Managing Director (Hyperlink to definition) of Deutsche Suisse Asset Management and cross-country skier who competed for Dominica at the 2014 Winter Olympics in the 10-kilometre classical race.

Early life and career

Angelica graduated from the Liceo Classico Bernardino Telesio in Cosenza Italy. She has an undergraduate degree from the Università degli Studi La Sapienza in Rome, Italy. She also has a Master in Linguistics from Georgetown University, in Washington, DC. She also earned a Master of Business Administration from London Business School. Her professional career started in the Investor Relations department at Fiat USA, Inc, where she progressed through the ranks to head the department before starting business school. In 1997, Ms Morrone co-founded Deutsche Suisse Asset Management.

With sights set on competing at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Morrone earned the chance to represent Dominica by racing in five Olympic qualifiers leading up to the games. Unfortunately for her, she had an almost fatal accident the day after the Opening Ceremonies of the games and she had to undergo 8 surgeries, 5 of which in Sochi, just to stay alive. Angelica was not able to start the race she had qualified for since she was in intensive care at the Krasnodar Hospital. Leading up to the 2014 Winter Olympic games, Angelica Morrone and Gary di Silvestri received a lot of positive press, including a piece from NBC Sports.

Philanthropy

After Tropical Storm Erika, Angelica Morrone fundraised and helped financed development and humanitarian projects in Dominica to assist the country's rebuilding efforts. She also helped to fund athletic programs around the world, including the U.S. Cross Country Ski Team, and several other national, university and club efforts looking to grow the sport. During the Covid-19 Pandemic, she established a scholarship in her mother’s name and donated several computers to needy children in Casali del Manco, Pedace.
