510 Offshore Patrol Vessel
The 510 OPV is a class of patrol vessels offered by the Abu Dhabi Ship Building consortium.[1][2] The vessel's hulls will be 51 meters long. They are designed to operate in rough seas.
The class was first introduced at the Indo Defence Expo & Forum 2022 in Jakarta.[2]
The vessels come equipped with a stern launching ramp, for launching and retrieving a daughter craft, without first coming to a stop.[1] Their rear deck can be configured to carry larger davit launched daughter craft, or a helipad large enough to launch and retrieve small unarmed surviellance drones, or to carry TEU with special equipment. The rear deck will also mount a large multi-use crane.
The vessels' possible armaments include 30mm autocannon, antiship missiles, and manual or remote controlled machine guns.[1]
Abu Dhabi Ship Building has partnered with Turkish Defence contractor ARES to provide the hulls - a hull design that has a proven track record.[1]
