Damarea 'DeeDee' Leah Ogbuewu (Ohbe-WUO, Damarea Leah Ogbuewu; born August 8, 2005) is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, former artistic gymnast, actress, author, soccer player, and YouTuber. She rose to the public eye when she landed the lead role of Jade Reed in the reboot of The Karate Kid, and later left the acting industry behind to return to gymnastics. She was a member of the University of South Carolina Gymnastics Team, becoming the youngest to make a college team at the age of ten. At only 11 years old, her poem 'Still I Rise' became a permanent piece in the SC Children's Gallery, and a main attraction in the South Carolina State Museum in 2010.

Early Life Damarea Leah Ogbuewu was born on August 8,2005 in Columbia, South Carolina. She is known to be the eldest of her parent's two children. At the start of her school education, she was acknowledged for having the ability to 'learn by ear', meaning that she could play back and speak back what she has heard prior to. This prompted her knowledge of now five fluent languages: Spanish, English, Swahili, Igbo, and Korean. At the age of six, Ogbuewu began singing which lead to her first performance of the United States National Anthem at a Yankees baseball game. After being rejected from the Catholic Church choir at the age of seven, she found interest in gymnastics.

Relationships Ogbuewu is not public about her relationships, but has recently known to be dating Black-ish star, Miles Brown.
