iGear

Stinger is a third-party Transformer homage to Generation 1 Bumblebee.

Other third-party Transformer homages to Bumblebee include iGear's Bee 01 and Artfeather Bumblebee.

Sadly the whole line was scrapped.[1]

The biography for Stinger makes reference to his design being commissioned by Horror Monarch, iGear's version of Megatron. This is a reference to the fact that the Volkswagon Beetle design was commissioned by Adolf Hitler.

Stinger should not be confused with the Keith's Fantasy Club characters of the Stinger (Keith's Fantasy Club).

Development

Rocky and Stinger were announced by iGear on their Facebook page in April 2013.[2]

Fictional biography

A little known fact, but the body-type that Stinger used on his home planet was commissioned as part of the “robot’s wheels” project commissioned by Horror Monarch to create an unified, energy efficient, easily repairable alt. mode for all robot citizens. Stinger was quick to rid himself of such a heinous vehicle shell, before picking what he thought was a less contentious Earth mode.
