Perfect Effect

Kingbat is a fictional character created by Perfect Effect as a third-party Transformer homage to the 1986 Transformer Decepticon Ratbat. He turns from bat to jet to a trident weapon.

Other third-party Transformers inspired by Ratbat include Nightfang and Power-Bat.

Development

Perfect Effect first teased drawings of The Night, The Sun and Kingbat on the internet in June 2010.

In September 2012 Perfect Effect posted color images of Kingbat and Ninja to the internet.

Kingbat was released in December 2010.

Reception

The WTF@TFW podcast for September 23rd, 2010 selected a picture of Kingbat as one of the New Picture Picks.

Toys

• Perfect Effect PE-10 Kingbat (2010)

An original third-party Transformer mold. Turns from bat to jet to trident. A separate "Mega Sword" accessory is included with him that is used only in weapon mode, in bat and vehicle modes it is intended as a stand alone accessory for a larger Transformer.

This toy was recolored into Shadow Bat.
