Career
Gannon holds a bachelor's degree in Communications and a minor in French from The State University of New York, The College at Oneonta, complemented by a semester abroad in Paris, enhancing her international perspective.
Beginning her career in Chicago in 2001, Melissa initially joined Hyatt Hotels Corporation, providing administrative support within the design and construction sector. Her journey continued as she relocated back to New York City, joining Starwood Hotels under Barry Sternlicht's leadership. There, she played a pivotal role in the rebranding and redesign of several hotel brands, including Le Meridien and Sheraton, showcasing her ability to manage significant projects and teams.
Melissa's career trajectory took a turn towards the private equity sector when she collaborated with Tyler Morse at MCR, helping to launch and build the firm from the ground up. This role was followed by a pivotal position at Highbridge Principal Strategies, where she contributed to raising a five-billion-dollar fund, further evidencing her proficiency in fundraising and scaling businesses.
In 2016, she returned to MCR as the Executive Administrator for the CEO's executive office, playing a critical role in the firm's expansion and the development of high-profile projects like the TWA Hotel at JFK. Her tenure at MCR was marked by significant achievements and growth for the company.
Recently, Melissa transitioned to a role as Vice President in the Office of the Co-Chairman at a globally recognized hedge fund, where she manages business planning and oversees key VIP relationships, demonstrating her adeptness at navigating high-stakes environments.
