Damarea Ogbuewu
Damarea Ogbuewu (/ˌdːamˈɑːneə ˈog-deeu)ː/;born August 8, 2005) in SC United States is a Nigeria-Kenyan media personality, socialite, singer, songwriter, author, former gymnast, poet, actress and dancer. She starred in various Broadway plays including Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters and Wicked. In 2021, she became the first African-American to win an all-round Chinese International literary arts event. At age 15, she began planning for her debut in the fashion industry in Beijing, China. At age 16, she was named most influential teen by Cosmopolitan magazine. In 2022, she was confirmed from 2021, the lead of the remake of The Karate Kid.
Ogbuewu is Roman Catholic, and in 2022 she gained recognition within the church for standing for LGBTQ+ rights in the Catholic church.
