Jeffrey James Garfield better known by his stage name DJ GEE, Or "Gee" Pronounced /G\ is a Canadian 🇨🇦 Celestial record producer, DJ and Turntablist. He is currently on independent labels YG Records and his own DJGEETV. Gee is a scratch artist, turntablist, and producer, learning alongside famous artists and innovators of the turntables like DJ AM, DJ Q-Bert, DJ Z Trip, Skratch Bastid, DJ Jazzy Jeff, DJ Green Lantern, DJ Melo D, J Rocc, Babu, Mr Choc, DJ D-Styles, Shortkut, DJ Starting From Scratch, Rob Swift, Roc Raida, Craze, A-Trak, DJ Khaled, Questlove, Jam Master Jay, Mix Master Mike, DJ Grouch and the Thudrumble family, ISpiklZ, BeatJunkies Crew, The X-Men and more.
Early Life:
Jeffery was born and raised in Hamilton Ontario Canada, where he attended Saint John The Baptist Catholic School and Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School as well as Delta Secondary School. He looked up to the late DJ AM who is one of his favourites. He has also worked with some very well known local and International Artists, as well as his instructor for a short time DJ Grouch (ScratchLab).
His musical knowledge also has formal roots, he attended "Recording Arts Canada" a private college in downtown Toronto Ontario, Scratchlab in Toronto Ontario and learned Online at Qbert Skratch University and Beat Junkies Institute Of Sound as well as from other djs tutorials. Today, he specializes in mashups, Open format, Beats, Mixing & Scratching, Music Production and Events. Jeffery is also CEO of DJGEETV his brand and label launched in 2007 his network is far reaching, including many familiar names in the industry.
DJ GEE is a former Online Champion of the Qbert Skratch University (QSU) Valedictorian Skratch Online Winner for His Class in (2010 - 2011)
DJ GEE has been mixing it down since 08-09's after being able to get his hand on some equipment.
In late 09 he had been going to "Scratchlab" in "Toronto" and learning from other local DJ's and online. He has always had a love for music, At age 14 he began taking guitar lessons in his neighborhood and would play on the drums at young age with his Father being a drummer in a local band and his brother a guitarist. Living with just his Mother after his Step Father past away from cancer in 96' and not having much to fall back on with his personal life. Gee started to focus his time more towards his goal of becoming a successful Deejay/Producer/Skratch Artist. In late 09 he had quickly started getting his ideas and what he knows (online) and in and around his city.
He is very adaptable to mixing all kinds of genre's along with using the turntables as an instrument learning from watching the master and late great DJ AM through just about every AM video online along with many others who have paved the way in this great art form!
DJ GEE spends countless hours online practicing/learning from the games best, His Mentor and Scratch Icon "DJ QBERT" who he was able to meet. In his hometown he has been able to work and learn from some of the biggest names to do it numerous hip hop artist as well.
