An app modder is someone who modifies or enhances an app created by someone else. Modding can involve changing the app's code, design, content, or functionality, or creating a new or derivative work based on the app. Developers often create modified versions of Android APK files, called Mod APKs, to provide extra features or unlocked levels/Activate Premium features in a game/app.

However, some malicious developers can create modded APKs that contain malware or adware. Modding an app is illegal because it violates the terms of service of the original app. Using mod apps in games can also result in a temporary or permanent ban from the gaming community. Some mod apps can also steal data and personal information and sell it.
