Early life and family

Avinash Jadhav was born in February 1968 into an upper-middle-class Maharashtrian family in Pune, Maharashtra (now Mumbai). His father, Shri. Madhavrao, served as a government officer, while his mother, Ratnaprabha, worked as a convent teacher. Tragically, both of his parents passed away in an accident when Avinash was just eight years old. Following this unfortunate event, he was raised by his grandmother, Smt. Sarubai Jadhav. Avinash attended Alegaonkar School in Kirkee, Pune, where he completed his primary education. Later, his family relocated to their ancestral hometown of Satara, where he completed his secondary education. During his school days, Avinash developed a strong fascination for Bollywood productions and frequently watched movies featuring actors such as Raj Kapoor, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Mithun Chakravarty, Shabana Azmi, and Vahida Rehman. Films like "Mera Naam Joker" and "Sholay" had a profound impact on his young mind, leaving a lasting impression.

Education & Interests

Alongside his passion for cinema, Avinash Jadhav also cultivated a deep interest in Indian music. During his higher education, he actively engaged in school gatherings, dramas, and plays, taking on roles as both a performer and director. This enabled him to explore his creative abilities and acquire valuable experience in the realm of art and storytelling. After graduating from Rayat Shikshan Sanstha, he moved to Mumbai in 1991.

As Avinash's journey unfolded, he drew inspiration from the realms of entertainment and culture, shaping his aspirations and influencing his future endeavors.

Struggles

While employed as a computer operator in a private company in Mumbai to sustain his day-to-day expenses, Avinash Jadhav never wavered in his true passion: to work as a director in the film or TV industry. Despite his job, he maintained unwavering determination to pursue his dreams and actively sought opportunities in the realm of entertainment.

During his leisure time, Avinash would attend industry events, network with professionals, and explore various avenues to immerse himself in the world of filmmaking and television production. He eagerly sought to grasp the intricacies of the industry and gain practical experience as an assistant director, viewing it as a crucial stepping stone towards his ultimate goal of leaving a significant impact in the film domain.

In the media

One night in 2004, a producer and director named Chandrakant Gaikwad visited Avinash Jadhav's residence unexpectedly. Chandrakant informed Avinash that his Marathi serial, titled "Potraj," had received approval from Mumbai DD National TV channel. However, due to a lack of funds, they were unable to commence the shooting of the serial and were even contemplating suicide if they didn't receive assistance. Despite facing significant challenges, Avinash managed to help Chandrakant by providing him with 50 thousand rupees the following day.

Recognizing Avinash's skills, Chandrakant promptly hired him as an assistant director on the set the very next day. From that point onward, Avinash's career took an upward trajectory, and he never looked back.
